Our History

CareBright organisation arose from the selfless spirit of volunteerism from members of the community in 1998.

Our roots are embedded in the community; we work in the community providing both employment and quality care to the community. We are not a franchise or large multi-national organisation; we are a not for profit taking community based organisation. We believe our success and level of professionalism lies in our dedication as a team to deliver care to people in our community.

It all began in Co. Limerick where a pilot, led by Ballyhoura Development Limited was set up in Hospital, Co. Limerick and Churchtown, Co. Cork. This pilot was set up to provide home care services for older persons and people with disabilities. Due to the success of our delivery of home care, a company limited by guarantee, which achieved charitable status, was established in 1998.

In 2006, CareBright (formerly RCCN) registered as a service provider with the HSE. We were part of a network of organisations to be employed by the HSE to provide home care in the Midwest region.

In 2004, CareBright became the service provider for the administration and delivery of chiropody services for Limerick city and chiropody service for persons residing in hostels. The HSE Mid-West provides the funding for this programme. We employ 6 contract chiropodists; we currently deliver chiropody services to over 3,000 clients.
